The Buckstop Single Wheel Conversion is an engineered kit with each component integrated to acheive as close to OEM structure as possible while converting from dual rear wheels to four single tires. The purpose of the Conversion is for greater off-road traction and performance without compromising weight carrying capacity.

The bed was made for a true Dually pickup, not a cab and chasis 1 ton. The dually axle is wider than the cab and chasis axle. What I want to do is probably just put wheel spacers on my single whaeel axle and then bolt on 1 ton dual wheels. You'll have to cut down the filler neck to size for the single bed also. Unknown member Discussion starter. #3 · Sep 8, 2001. I think I'd sell the dually and buy a single wheeled truck. All duallys (at least since '94) are 1-tons, and the single wheeled would be 3/4 tons. Your 1-ton is worth more than a 3/4-ton. The rear axle should be the only difference (and potentially the brake master cylinder - the dually axles generally have wider shoes - 3.5" wide vs 3" wide for single wheel 2500 & 3500s - and definitely have bigger brake wheel cylinders). Here is a member from here who converted his dually to single wheel rear. I don't remember his name. He removed his front dually wheel spacers and added 3.5" spacers to the rear. His wheels are 18x10 with 4.5" backspacing and the tires are 33x15.5's and he has a 6" if I recall.
