I haven't played Stellaris in over a year, and I'm playing with Necrophage for the first time. I've looked at other guides, and some mention that the prepatent species is enslaved by default, but that only happens if I use Slaver Guilds. I don't really like that civic because it makes some of my Necrophage pops enslaved as well.

Nov 8, 2020 · Well written guide, although i actually wouldnt recommend rushing synth for necrophage do to the fact you ascend all your pops to synth, including your slaves which makes it so you lose resources instead of gaining(100% slave species with domination and slaver guilds are better then normal synth ascended pops) unlike most other builds. What makes Barbaric Despoilers a game changer is their ability to permanently weaken enemies economy while boosting their own economy. The -20% mineral and energy gain of this wargoal paired with the ability to steal enemy pops can set a Empire back decades while boosting you’re own population is ridiculous.
