I did some research but was not able to find answers about whether the preliminary result as a fail is officially a fail. Has an unofficial fail become an official pass in the past?

My understanding is that as long as I do not discuss what is on the test and I did not cheat, I passed. The PTCB simply needs to see the results before it is official. Am I right in thinking this?
