Alrighty I know there is no way of knowing, but I am 38 + 4, FTM, had an appt today and my doctor said I was 90% effaced, 2-3cm dilated and baby is very low. He said he really thinks that the baby will be here in the next few days! The doc said she wouldn't be surprised if I had the baby next week - but she also said to not quote her on that because everyone is different. I still may go until (or even past) my due date., She was on bed rest for 2 months in hospital. In the end when she finally when into labour about 2 weeks early, she was dilated exactly the same as the day she went in. 29 weeks is about when I started having preterm labor scares. I ended up making it to 36 weeks. Similar thing happened to my wife at 28 weeks., 38 weeks and 2 cm dilated. v. veligee. Jan 29, 2024 at 5:13 PM. FTM here and just had an appointment today. I was told I'm about 2 cm dilated and 40% effaced. In your past pregnancies, how fast did you fully dilate once you started? I'm wondering if I'll even make it to 40 weeks or if this means baby will come a lot sooner .
