Looks like a pre-Model 38, if there is no model number stamped inside the yoke with the cylinder open. It should say Bodyguard Airweight on the barrel. If not, it should be a Model 49 Bodyguard. The airweight was an alloy frame that is much lighter than the 49. But, the 49 should be model stamped from the beginning.
