Cat2020, I purchased a new P365 after you posted everything was really really tight. The takedown lever was extremely tight as well. I just kept working it back and forth. Racked the slide about 200 times ran 110 rounds through it and although it is still tight, everything works good. No malfunctions at the range.

When the FCU is out it can slip behind where it belongs, rotating the slide lever won't depress the sear down and the slide jams into it. It's like it's own trigger finger actually pulling the sear down. After reassembling a pair of P365's with Boresite modules, this slide won't go back on the frame. It stops short when hitting g this part of the FCU, which is raised up higher than on my other two FCU's ( which sit just below the frame rails). If it is push it down, make sure you are pushing the take down lever towards front of gun while pushing up on slide release.

The P365 magazine springs are stiff at first. You won't encounter nearly as much resistance when the magazine is loaded, of course, and obviously if you remove the magazine, no problem. Take the fcu out of the grip. Push the sear down while pushing the takedown lever and takedown lever pin in. The hook end of the takedown lever should wrap around the bottom point of the sear. I read the manual and watched a few videos on disassembly. I locked the slide back, pushed the take down lever down and pushed the slide forward to remove from the lower.

Your takedown safety lever is out of position. It should be holding the sear down. Yep this was the problem. The takedown safety level hooks around a little pin in the rear end of the FCU. This little pin is what move the sear up/down. Somehow the takedown level must have lost its grip to the little pin. The fix is to move the takedown level ...Lock the slide to the rear. Pull down the take down lever and hold it, while you bring the slide forward with your other hand. Try that. Hold the lever takedown forward and grab the slide from the rear, not the front. My levers usually are in the 7/8 o clock position. You’re looks like it’s at the 6 o clock.Of course the main issue is that takedown lever was not in the fully unlocked mode when that slide came forward. Now the takedown lever is probably pushing up on the slide, causing it to jam.
