The so called "bad" area of Myrtle Beach is usually considered the southern end of Myrtle Beach. Anywhere near the Airport is called bad.It's really more South Ocean Blvd and South Kings Highway. Socastee, Market Common and surrounding area is very reasonably safe. I lived in MB in the 90's and that South Ocean Blvd/South Kings Highway area wasn't really too bad if you're a grown, adult male not looking for trouble, but otherwise I wouldn't go.Water molecules can absorb the red colors of the light spectrum but leave behind the blues, making a more rich blue look to the water.
