Sig p365 slide release hard to push

On both of my p320s the slide buttons have always worked well/smoothly when using them as a slide release, even right out of the box. I have noticed similar situations to what the OP describes (having to apply ridiculous pressure to release the slide on a new gun) in both certain new glocks and in particular with a Hudson H9 (was absurdly hard).

The mag is out and the slide is locked back but the damn takedown lever will not go to 6 o'clock position no matter how hard I force it. My thumb is bleeding at this point lol. Assuming you are right handed hold the grip firmly with your right hand and take a firm overhand grip of your slide behind the extractor. Now PUSH the grip forward while holding the slide firmly. Much easier than pulling the slide backwards.Most of the time a slide gets jammed because the recoil spring has fallen out of position and is making contact with the frame. The best way to solve this is get the gun back into battery. Meaning, return the slide to the normal rest position. The P365 is better than many of similar pocket sized pistols for general take down and reassembly. , Sig p365 NEW slid lock is stiff AF. So my wife got herself a P365 today and she can not operate the slide lock it is a bit easier if she pulls the slide back while doing it but still hard.
