Although this amp has had some "reliability" issues (particularly with the compressor) I still think this is a great amp, and probably my #1 amp when I gig. It's simple, powerful and to the point. If the bass is defretted you must fill the fret slots and sand level before applying epoxy. It's not easy to get a professional looking job but it can be done. I'd mix up a small amount and test the technique first on a small piece of hardwood.You can go with a bi-amp system, use a 410 for the upper frequencies, and use a powered 15" sub woofer.
