I bought a 20 rounder only to take off and put an after market +4 base plate only to realize I just paid 4 more dollars to not use the base plate it comes with. Just trying to save you a couple of dollars if I can. Thinking back, any Canik mags at that time were absolutely impossible to find. I had to punch a 6 year old to get mine. 🤫😂

Mete MC9 - First 150. I have been in the market for a new carry piece for a few months. I had been close to buying a Shadow Systems CR920, but just couldn't stomach the price tag. They are a great gun from what I hear, but a bit steep, even for what you get. I have always heard good things about Caniks, but have yet to own one, until today. Additional comment actions. On the one hand, an all-steel pistol, optics ready, with mount plates, changeable grips, and 1913 rail, and that good a trigger for under $1000 is almost laughably good value compared to what's out there now.

The other downside is just Canik in general, and that's aftermarket options. You simply won't find as many people making parts and accessories for Canik as you will for Glock, M&P, Sigs, and others. The counter argument is that aftermarket isn't as big a concern for Caniks since they already have good triggers and sights out of the box. And it has the Disruptive Defense optic plate on it which I highly recommend. Drops the height of your optic down by half. It is skeleton cut to be exactly flush with the striker channel meaning your optic physically cannot go any lower. Found some Canik reviews on YT and down the rabbit hole I went. Few days of watching reviews and I was sold. Went to my LGS and bought the TP9SF Elite. Not to mention the clerks behind the counter suggested Canik almost unanimously. Fit my hand like a glove and man that trigger was a game changer, especially compared to my G3 lol.

Just visited the official CANIK site and noticed that the MO1 is apparently available again! I own the SF and SFX (a longer slide version of the SFT) and can say the shorter frame makes a huge difference (imo) if you're looking to carry. The SF also has a 15 round magazine, whereas all the other current METEs are 18 round (SF can still use 18 round magazines).

Just use a small finishing nail to push the pin up from the bottom. The pin is solid with a cupped end at the bottom and the cup needs to compress and a punch doesn't allow it but a pointy nail will. Slightly longer barrel/slide, slightly longer grip -- those would really improve the gun, I think. Inside barrel after first cleaning - Only a couple minor tooling marks which shouldn't impact accuracy for typical pistol distances. Before shooting it, I examined the barrel with my borescope and discovered it has some minor tooling marks, but it cleans up nice.
