The D shell slides into a groove on the wiper blade. There is a screw in each end and it is supposed to slide out from there. Don't count on it. Mine was glued in by whatever sealant was used on the top. The replacement part was easy. I sealed mine across the top so water wouldn't get back behind the wiper part.
